Hello friends, family and art lovers!
The Muse Gallery is a platform that supports local artists and offers a place for collaboration and community. As you can imagine, with the challenges that most galleries face, coupled with current COVID-19 social distancing restrictions, The Muse Gallery has been hit hard.
We have applied for PPE loans and art-centered grants, but our small gallery does not seem to qualify for the limited assistance available at this time. Because we are not a non-profit or an Art Agency, but instead are a unique collaborative gallery, we fall through many cracks.
It is with the grace of our landlord and the unwavering support of our art community, that we HAVE managed to hold onto our retail space and weather the initial wave of cancelled events and classes.
We have restructured, re-arranged and changed our business model to adapt to this new Covid-tinted world we’re in. We remain committed to helping build a thriving arts community and supporting local artists. We are blessed to have a tremendous group of artists, and we are inspired by their passion and talent. We truly believe that art is essential in life, especially during times of isolation and crisis.
Even working with these adapted business strategies, we face challenges to keeping our doors open. Art sales have dropped dramatically and we have had to cancel this year’s events, which are normally the majority of our income. As we look at 2021, we are still facing a deficit, and just need a bit of support from you to get us through this next phase.
Please consider supporting The Muse in this art dream together. We recently won the local Verde Independent’s Readers Choice award for Best Gallery, and we do see hope and creativity on the horizon.
