Cheryl A. Campbell, our sister, friend, coworker, colleague, classmate, Phi Theta Kappa member and so much more is close to earning her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology in December 2016 from the University of Florida. Cheryl is a first generation college student and will be the first in her family to earn a college degree. Her family stems from a generation of hard working people from Haiti and Jamaica. Cheryl has been in the United States since the age of 2. Ever since then, Cheryl has known no other place to call home, where she has resided in south Florida. Cheryl has been trying to get her immigration documents settled and it has proven harder than imaginable. She is currently in the Bahamas where she went for a visa interview on July 19th and was denied and banned from returning to the United States where all of her family and friends reside, basically where her life is. Cheryl has hired an attorney and needs financial assistance while applying for a waiver and proper documents to return to the United States. She needs financial assistance with attorney fees which is $3,500, since she cannot return to her job until she is back in the United States. She also needs assistance with housing and food. Please consider donating to the GoFundMe campaign we have set up to help her until she can get home and back to school.God Bless You,On behalf of Cheryl A Campbell all donations will go to help her find somewhere safe to live and pay her attorney fees while she is in the Bahamas until she is able to return home.
The amount we are requesting is the combination of Cheryl's attorney's fee and filing fee and a safe place to live for the month. We thank you in advance for your generosity in bringing our friend home.
