Hello there! Thank you for even looking at this page, it truly means a lot. Welcome to our fundraiser for our upcoming short film. It’s about vampires, identical twins, blood, and more… but you can read that below. We believe it’ll be just as fun to make as it will to watch, but as it stands we simply don’t have the funds to make it happen. So please give us money.
Just kidding! But not really, whatever you can do for us, even if that’s just sharing this with your friends, it will be deeply appreciated.

Sucker Synopsis
A directionless and lacking Jess visits her identical twin, Lucy, at her new university flat. The anarchic and free-spirited Lucy has experienced more than her sister in their short time apart, making Jess feel neglected. Before Jess can settle in, she discovers that Lucy is a vampire - the hard way. In failure to resist, Lucy drinks Jess’ blood. After being bitten, Jess becomes immediately sick, quickly developing a strong desire for blood. Driven by wild desire, Jess’ physical and mental states are compromised. She is plunged into madness when Lucy refuses to help her, she’d rather watch her sister die than let her become a vampire. After biting herself raw with a little success, Jess realises that the only way to save herself is to drink the blood of her sister. Jess callously beats Lucy down and feeds on her. Lucy wakes, but she’s too late, Jess is now a vampire. Through sickness, struggle and death, the sisters are reunited.

About us
Since our first week of university, the three of us have made all kinds of weird and wonderful films together, some of which you can check out below. Mostly, we’ve been interested in the horror genre. With Matthew’s incredible utilization of VFX and editing, Thea’s ability to organise a film set and source incredible actors (who don’t hold back from fake blood), and my obsession with uncomfortable and terrifying film sound, we’ve been able to make some really cool stuff. However, this is our most ambitious project yet, so we need all the help we can get.

Where does the money go?
Well, since our university cut us off both financially and academically, we’re on our own for this one. Every single penny will go towards something great. Most of which, towards the big professional camera that’ll make the film pop. However, we’re still carefully considering our shots and equipment to make sure that we’re not wasteful with time or money - only using what we need to tell the story efficiently. Also, fake blood is really expensive, especially when our actor is required to drink copious amounts of it. We also have a responsibility to dress our actor, dress the set, and source all the cool props - which we’ll probably auction off when we’re all famous. On top of all this, there’s that matter of the evil Coronavirus, meaning that we can’t all hold hands on set like we used to. To remedy this, we’re going to have to buy face masks, gallons of hand sanitizer, 2m sticks, face shields, gloves and pre-packaged food and drink for all cast and crew.
As you can see, every single donation to this project is fundamental to us, in being able to deliver a top-quality film. Each and every one of you has a role, far more valuable than ours, in seeing this film come to light.

We’ll be posting some really exciting stuff. Our Director has been busy over the past few months painting original acrylic-on-canvas illustrations for the film, which we’ll be hosting an auction for! All details about this will appear on our instagram. Maybe we’ll even do a live auction, with the fast-voice guy! But here they are, they could be yours…

We’ll also be showing you behind-the-scenes photos/footage of our film in the making, from script, to storyboard, to edit!

This isn’t our first time!
We want to reassure you that you can trust us to make a good film with your donations. Have a look at our previous work!

Stretchy Goals!
If we raise more than our already ambitious goal of £2000, here’s what we’ll do:
£3000 - We’ll be able to use better filming equipment, more authentic props, costumes and set design. It’ll be more likely that we’ll be able to get a recognised song on the soundtrack, currently, we’re wooing Fiction Records to clear the rights for “Sucker” by The Big Moon. We’ll also be able to push our project further into the short film festival circuit. This would cover marketing, festival submission and recognition!
£4000 - Woah! We’ll host a big screening party (after June 21st of course)! With a barbeque! You’re all invited, and your friends… and their friends!
£1,000,000 - Re-draft into a feature script. Hire big guns. Re-shoot. Take to Cannes. Get Palme D’or.

It ain’t gonna be easy.
We realise this is probably the worst possible time to make a short film, but why not? Everyone needs something to watch. Things were looking bleak when our university told us that they’re no longer providing sufficient equipment for our films, and aren’t going to grade them. However, we’ve picked ourselves up and are ambitious to make this project. It all depends on how much help we can get. We’re hoping that by the end of May, we can show you some results.
Until then,
Thank you so much! We love you!
