Hi, my name is Jesus, and I’m raising funds after a devastating car accident that has turned my life upside down.

My cousin Fran and I—ages 22 and 23—were on our way to work, when another driver ran a red light and violently crashed into our vehicle, leaving both of us seriously injured and in a matter of seconds, our normal lives changed completely.

I spent a week in the ICU and suffered a broken leg, fractures to my spine, and severe facial injuries that required reconstructive surgery. I also lost teeth from the impact. After being discharged, I was forced to return to the hospital after developing a fever caused by an infection related to my surgery. I am currently back in the hospital, the plastic surgeons had to redo my facial surgery to remove the infection that formed near the medal plate they inserted in my check bone. I am currently unable to walk or speak properly and will need extensive physical therapy and speech therapy to recover.

Fran and I were always together —making the best of every moment, supporting each other, and bringing laughter and positivity to everyone around us. To have our lives turned upside down like this has been incredibly traumatic and stressful, especially during the holiday season a time that is meant for family and joy. I can’t wait until our lives go back to normal and we both walk out of this hospital.
