Hi, my name is Kristin, I am 40 years old and I have breast cancer...
Never in my life did I think that I would have to say this, but I was diagnosed with breast cancer (DCIS) on July 12, 2016.
When I received that phone call my world dumbled down to my feet, I was scared and had no idea what do to. After the first shock settled doctors appointments were lined up quickly and I started to learn that I am so much more fortunate than so many other breast cancer fighters out there. I would be just fine!
However to achieve "being fine" a mastectomy is needed for a hopefully successful and cancer free recovery combined with a reconstructive surgery. I will loose at least one of my breasts, still waiting on test results on what is going to happen to the other one.
Our family is usually not one to ask for assistance, but we decided to do this to help cover the financial wave that will be coming our way. I will be out of work for about 4 weeks on a short term disability check, which is not going to cover our living expenses and not even close to cover the medical bills that will tumble in after the surgery.
Any help is greatly appreciated! It will take off a lot of stress and worry about how to pay for all of this and leave me with strength and energy to heal and recover and hopefully return back to my "normal" life.
My heart goes out to all breast cancer fighters out there, the emotional roller coaster is not something to be able to put in words. Prayers be with you and your families, prayers for cure, prayers for hope, prayers for help! May the tears heal your wounds and make you stronger to fight! We can do this!
We thank everyone reading this, we thank you for prayers and of course any donation you are willing to do is so so much appreciated and will go straight to all medical bills.
CURE FOR HOPE!
All my thanks goes out to you!
Kristin W.
