Hi, my name is Emmitt and I am writing on behalf of my 56 year old dad, Nathan.

Recently my dad was diagnosed with Stage IV Bladder Cancer that has spread throughout his entire body, including his bones. We've only known this for a little over a week, and though my dad is a crazy stubborn man, his prognosis has quickly and rapidly declined. Currently he is in the ICU fighting for his life and sadly, at this time, without a miracle, it doesn't appear that dad will make it home to us.

Growing up in Philadelphia with his grandfather, then moving to Maryland to be with his father, he found the love of his life, my mother in 1993. He has always addressed her as his "Beautiful Bride". Together, including myself, they had 6 children. When someone would ask him "what makes you proud?" his answer was "My 6 kids, 3 boys and 3 girls". Life has always been interesting, but it always had a foundation of love that we all stood on, following his example. My dad is and always will be my hero, and the hero to my siblings.

He's always had a heart for people, to love them and make sure they had what they needed. His life's career echoed that as he became a firefighter then later an EMT serving for 25 years. Always giving of himself, he constantly laid his life aside to help others. If he knew you were hungry, without asking he would make sure you were fed, even sacrificing his own lunch. Dad always had a way of knowing things without anyone saying anything to him about whatever the situation was going on at the time.

Now, my dad needs a little help from you, our friends and family. With the rapid progression of his cancer, we are trying to manage medical expenses and plan for the very worst. If there is any way that you are able to help with any amount, it is appreciated more then you will know.
