On Tuesday, our world turned upside down. We had to rush to Newmarket for Vincent to undergo emergency spinal surgery after a sudden and devastating diagnosis of Stage 4 IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease).
One minute, he was completely fine – running, playing, his usual happy self. The next, he was paralysed and unable to move his legs.
IVDD is a genetic condition that affects 1 in 4 Dachshunds, and heartbreakingly, Vincent is one of them.
After a week of tears, fear, and sleepless nights, I’ve realised that I have to do everything in my power to help give him the best shot at recovery. That’s why I’m setting up this GoFundMe – to raise funds for Vincent’s rehabilitation, therapy, and long-term aftercare.
His surgery alone has already cost £7,500, and I’m still on statutory maternity leave pay. Insurance hasn’t even covered half the cost, and I’ve completely exhausted my savings just to get him the surgery he needed to survive.
If you can help in any way – no matter how small – it would mean the world to me and my little family. Every donation will go directly towards helping Vincent walk again and giving him the best chance at a full, happy life.
Thank you so much x
