Keeping Up With Connor

Megan and Jonathan Wood were beyond blessed with their son Connor's arrival in March of 2012. Also known as "C-Note" or "De-Structor"', Connor Wood looks and acts like any typical 4 year old boy. He loves to tear through the house, play with his trucks, chase his dog Beau and look through books with his Daddy! He loves to eat his mommy's homemade guacamole, and watch his favorite shows including Disney Clubhouse, The Octonaut's, and the movie Cars while munching on Cheez-Its or goldfish crackers. It's a beautiful chaos at all moments full of happy noise and laughter in that household! These moments that Megan and Jonathan treasure and hold so near and dear to their hearts.

For those of you who may not know, each moment is special because Connor has been diagnosed recently with Cerebral Palsy. For most of his young life Connor has attended various therapy sessions multiple times a week; he sees a speech pathologist, physical therapists, and occupational therapists all while attending a Specialized school daily. Connor has also seen a Neurophysicist, undergone MRI's, and Genetic Testing. All of this on top of the regular doctor appointments that all children go to. Even with this crazy medical schedule for someone not even 5 years old, he is the happiest and sweetest little boy you will ever meet.

Megan and Jonathan have medical insurance coverage for Connor, along with great family and friends to lean on, but even with all of these resources, the medical bills and continued care for Connor continue to add up as yearly benefits reach their maximum allowed only mid-way through each calendar year. Connor's sessions have really made a noticeable difference and we all have seen the positive impact they have made both on him as well as Megan and Jonathan. Connor's Cerebral Palsy affects the language centers of his brain that control speech function. Some children have difficulty using correct words and or their ability to verbally express themselves. Without the continuation of consistent speech therapy, progress in this area may be seriuosly impeded. Therefore, we would hate for his progress to be halted until January. The importance and urgency of these sessions to continue with minimal interruption was the most important factor when deciding to set up this account. This is a real heavy burden for any parents to take on, yet Megan and Jonathan do it ever so gracefully, never complaining and without ever asking for help, always keeping the smiles on their faces. "The Grannies" (Megan and Jonathan's close girlfriends for anyone unfamiliar with "The Grannies") are reaching out to ask for your help today in any way possible. No amount is too small.

We suspect many of you will be amazed by this information. Sometimes even those closest to them forget their reality too. We thank you in advance for your kindness and support and even if you cannot help out financially, keep Connor, Megan and Jonathan in your thoughts for strength and continued positive progress for Connor. Our love to you all.... "The Grannies"
