This GoFundMe request is being made on behalf of our good friends Bob and Bobbi Wahl. Specifically, we are soliciting support from (but not limiting to) the Barbershop community as Both Bob and Bobbi have been active barbershoppers for many years.

Bob has been singing barbershop since 1967 when he joined the Staten Island, NY, chapter. While living in the east, Bob sang with the Greater Baltimore, MD, chapter and the Bowie, MD, chapter. After moving to Illinois he became a member of the Arlingtones, then West Towns, Chicago Metro and later, the Fox Valley Harmonizers. He sang bass in Three Bob and a Quid and Out of Towners in the Mid-Atlantic District, and in the Illinois District with Seasoned Sound (Ed Wilson Award 2011), Good Fellows, and Nobody You’d Know. Not to be outdone, it should be noted that Bobbie received 4 gold medals while singing with the Melodeers (Sweet Adelines International). Both were singing with the Fox Valley Harmonizers before the accident.

Unfortunately Bob and Bobbi have fallen on hard times, and recently were involved in a tragic automobile accident which totaled their SUV and caused both of them to suffer broken bones in their neck. They have each been wearing a neck brace since early August and will be required to wear them for the next several months. They are barely ambulatory and require a great deal of support for any physical activity. Beyond the issues related to the accident, Bob also suffers from macular degeneration and is approaching blindness. He is hearing impaired and has a “rigid” right knee which prevents extensive movement. Bobbi suffers from early onset dementia as well as the broken neck.

This GoFundMe request is for a total of $25,000. Several thousand dollars has already been pledged, but the need is great for things like uncovered medical expenses, food, house cleaning and personal services.
