Christin Blumstrom Franken, Ben Franken, his 9 year old son Hunter, and their 16 month old daughter Pippi lost their home, most of their possessions, and home businesses (which supported their young family) in the Sand Canyon fire recently.
Their family was evacuated in the middle of the night on July 23, 2016, and were literally running from the flames, grabbing whatever they could as they were awoken by firemen pounding on their door with immediate evacuation orders. They had a family business which they ran from home and now they have no home, no way to pay bills, buy food, replace items for their children, or money to rebuild their business.
All of the baby’s necessities (nursery, clothes, food, medication, diapers, toys, etc.) and therapeutic items Christin needs to use due to her being permanently disabled are gone. The garden they ate from, gone.
Christin is unable to work due to disability, and Ben’s life’s work in art has been completely destroyed. All the seeds of his business are gone after working 12-14 hour days for the past 3 years to develop it.
They had been living month to month as they build their home business, and were finally starting to get beyond “just making ends meet” living, when this fire hit and destroyed everything they worked so hard to build.
There isn’t one thing this family has left to rebuild from, lean on, or reuse. Ben’s brother and mother both lived within 1500 feet of their house and both of their homes also burned down completely; leaving the whole family without shelter.
If there’s anything you can do to help, they would so much appreciate it. To say that this family is devastated is an understatement.
Thank you.
