Braiden, Dane and Jaik Foss grew up on the family farm south of Hazen, ND. They learned to skate on the frozen farm pond. We knew at a early age that our boys had a passion for the game of hockey.
Jaik, our youngest, is 9 yrs. old. He grew up at the rink watching his brother's play hockey. He spent his time puck handling while his brother's had practice. Jaik has worked very hard at building his skills and has great "Hockey Sense." He is self motivated and has BIG DREAMS! Jaik not only wants to play in the NHL, but wants to be a "LEGEND" in the NHL."
Jaik recently took the opportunity to try out for the 10U Colorado Thunderbirds Hockey Academy, out of Denver, CO. He was offered a contract and was 1 of only 12 selected to play on the TRAVEL TEAM! The Thunderbirds are one of only 8 Premier 10U hockey teams in the United States. Jaik will play top teams at this level and could be traveling as far as Buffalo, NY. In fact, Jaik's team just signed up for the BAUER WORLD INVITE, in Chicago, entering in the Tier 1 AAA Elite catergory and will be scrimmaging teams, such as the Chicago Fury. He will be taking his first plane ride to play hockey in the beginning of November. This is a well deserved opportunity for Jaik and we are blessed to have been chosen! The Thunderbirds are a very well respected and established program. They have proven that they can place players in the programs to advance to success. The Cost of Jaik's season is $2500. This does not include hotel, plane tickets or meals. A hockey weekend for Jaik could cost as much as $1500.00 per weekend because he is only 9 and has to be accompanied by an adult. For a not so grand total of $7,000.
Braiden and Dane, twin 15 yr. old boys, started their hockey dreams at the age of 7. They started in Hazen, ND as a NorthStar, playing for 6 years. They left Hazen to play in Bismarck for the Capitals for 1 Season. Making a huge transition from B1 hockey to a Tier 1 AAA program, they BOTH were offered contracts to play for the Jr. Stampede 14U Tier 1 AAA team out of Sioux Falls, SD. This was the first big move for the whole family! Once again, we will be making a move to Monument, CO. Braiden and Dane signed a contract to play with the Colorado Rampage's 16U American Tier 1 AAA hockey team. This program is designed to provide coaching, training and support to players who want to develope at their highest level. The Rampage Program has a great coaching staff. This season they will travel to 2-3 Tier 1 AAA Events, with the opportunity to be move up to the 15U or 16U National Bound Teams. They will have great exposure in the Tier 1 Elite league, to scouts and coaches from the USHL, BCHL, NAHL, AHL, Division 1 and NHL. The season cost for each of the boys is $3,000. This does not include airfare, meals and lodging, which will be around $1,000 for each boy. For a not so grand total of $12,000.
We as a family have chosen to follow our boys dream of playing hockey, wherever that road my lead us. You have to take opportunities when they come or you will not get them back. 10 months ago, we moved to Sioux Falls, SD to start this journey and in 2 short weeks we need to be in Monument, CO to start another chapter in our "Road to the Cup." Our painting and drywall buisness is based on reputation. It takes a while to get established in a new area.
Please help us ease the tension of moving, paying hockey fees and other expenses that come with the season.
