Help Monty

Most people who know Monty know him as the big red goofball in the first stall of my barn who is always ready to greet a new friend. Monty has historically been healthy and happy, and a favorite to many people. This past summer, Monty’s health started to decline rapidly. Monty had 5 or 6 colic episodes, requiring tubing and IV fluids. He also rapidly lost weight. In September Monty was hospitalized at Tufts university for another bad colic episode. After many diagnostic tests found thickening in his small intestine, Monty is suspected to have Inflammatory bowel disease. We are currently working with a team, our vet at home, at tufts, and a nutritionist to help treat Monty. We are taking one day at a time to keep Monty alive, anything helps. ♥️
