Family and Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that we are creating this page for our dear friends Kristen and Eric Sager. On July 20th they received the most heart wrenching news that any parent could possibly ever receive, that their sweet Daniel Joshua had gone to be with The Lord just two short weeks before they were supposed to welcome him home.
For those of you who have not heard the story, here is a brief explanation. Earlier this week, Kristen noticed that Daniel was not as active as he usually was. Despite all efforts to get Daniel to move inside her belly, Kristen made a doctor’s appointment for that afternoon just to check on him and make sure all was okay. During that appointment, the doctor could not find the heartbeat on Baby Daniel. It was then that Eric met Kristen at the doctor’s office and they did an ultrasound for further examination. It was then confirmed their sweet Daniel was no longer breathing and had gone to be with The Lord. From what the doctors can tell, there was a blood clot that formed in the umbilical cord that blocked the oxygen flow to the baby, thus making it impossible for him to continue breathing. To say that were devastated is an extreme understatement.
Kristen scheduled the dreaded surgery for the next morning to remove the baby from her belly. Kristen did great through the surgery and once that was complete, her and Eric spent much of the morning loving on their angel baby. They said he was simply perfect, looked like his big brother Owen and was absolutely beautiful. They kissed him all over and sang songs to him. Baby Daniel never felt anything but love from his mommy and daddy.
The love, support and most importantly the prayers that Kristen, Eric and their family have received is remarkable. I know that they truly appreciate your thoughts and prayers so much as they have expressed to me their heartfelt gratitude. Please, please continue to pray for this special family as their journey will be ongoing and they will need as much support and encouragement as we can possibly give.
As a friend and mother myself, I know that no parent should ever have to plan the funeral arrangements for their child or make the decisions Kristen and Eric have been faced with making. Evermore, no parent should have to bear the financial responsibility associated with this situation which is ultimately the purpose of this Go Fund Me page.
Family, friends and even strangers of Kristen and Eric are asking how to help during this difficult time. While prayers are what they need the most, after much discussion with Kristen and Eric they have finally agreed to also accept the monetary donations that so many of you have asked to give. They will have considerable expenses as it relates to medical bills and the funeral home, which is where the money raised from this page will go towards.
Thank you in advance to those who will pray for this amazing family as well as those of you who are able give. Whether you’re able to give $5, $20 or $100, your generosity is simply amazing and appreciated so much by the Sager Family.
Thank you!!
