Smokey Bear's friend needs your help!

Mandie is a beautiful, intelligent, adventuresome young woman who recently found out that she has Invasive Ductal Carcinoma breast cancer - stage two, grade three.  For those of you who know Mandie, whether by her smile or infectious giggle, you know she spends her summers (and any other time of the year when needed) providing firefighting support to incident response, most notably wildfires, outside of her regular day job.  This year Mandie will be fighting another fight, that of breast cancer.

As I write this I am sitting in the waiting room while this beautiful young woman is in surgery to have a power port inserted in preparation for chemo therapy treatment starting next week, with treatments every two weeks.  This will last for approximately 4 months then she will go into radiation treatments immediately following as this is a highly progressive type of cancer.

Friends, though this young family has medical insurance, the costs associated with medical supplies, special diets, deductibles, and much more, will be extensive.  Please consider contributing towards helping this young family as they navigate the road to recovery.
