My husband died three years ago in Nice, France. At the time, I was in shock and couldn't think. Now, 3 years later, I am thinking a tad better, experiencing a sadness that is hard to explain. I think part of it is just realizing that I am 82 without a lot of time left, even on a good day. So, I have decided I must help myself get back up and running – as best as I can at the age of 82, going on 83. I want to make a major move. PARIS!! At the age of 82, with two bad knees, and dealing with life alone, AND being an expat in France, I could just “stay put|”, behave, and wait to die. But I want to live in Paris. It has been my lifelong dream. First, a bit of background information. My husband, Steve Orlandella, moved to Nice, France, from Los Angeles, California. We moved to France as a compromise. We had been living in Los Angeles, California, for many years. I moved there in 1968, from Gainesville, Georgia, to be an actress, later becoming an attorney. I met Steve Orlandella in 1993, at Dodgers Stadium. He was a television writer / producer / director for KCET. We got married in August 2005. He began writing books while I practiced entertainment and employment law. In 2014, we decided to “retire” to Nice, France. It took two years. On October 1, 2015, we moved - two happy campers. On July 30, 2016, Steve got sick with double pneumonia. On August 31, 2016, he died of heart failure. I did a campaign then and got help while at the same time. Now, here I am doing it again. Thanks for any help you are willing to give.
