As we prepare for the Production of Acadia Choices 2016 we can't help but reflect on our accomplishments these last four years. Choices was formed in 2012 with two goals. To educate our community on the dangers of impaired and distracted driving and to always keep the information current with today's trends and laws.
As we move foward with the planning of this year's program, we have decided to continue to bring awareness on the dangers of impaired and distracted driving. Due to an overwhelming request we have decided to also educate our community on the uses of synthetic substances and their consequences.
We have been very fortunate over the past four years to be able to provide this opportunity to our high school students who have had life changing experiences and a first hand look at statistics in action.
As we begin our fundraising campaign on October 1, 2015, I would like to thank the many agencies that have provided in-kind services to this program. Once again, The Choices Executive Committee is looking forward to workng with each and every one of you. It cost approximately $250 - $300 for each student that participates in the Choices Program. Some of the expenses include hotel accommodations (2 nights) charter bus transportation (4 days), meals, video production, keynote speakers, television air time, public service announcement, student activities, props, costumes and assorted supplies.
As I begin my final year as Choices coordinator I would like to thank all former students, their families and everyone that has supported this project. I ask that you consider making a small contribution so that we can achieve our goal of educating everyone in an effort to save lives.
