Hi everyone, I’m fundraising to help my family lay my beautiful grandmother to rest. But more so, I’m fundraising to help my uncle and grandpa get back on their feet. They were my grandmas sole caretakers and this tragedy is hitting them harder than any of us.
My grandma was the glue that held my big family together. She was diagnosed with dementia roughly 6 years ago, but her symptoms became more severe about 4 years ago. Keeping positive, we always surrounded her with friends, family, food, and wine. Sweet wine to be precise. Everything was great, aside from her repetitive questions.
Everything was great, until she stopped eating. Everything was great, until she stopped yelling at everyone. Everything was great, until she started falling asleep on the couch. Everything was great until she collapsed.
My grandpa lost his voice crying for his beloved wife. I can’t imagine what he is feeling if I feel so broken myself. My family will NEVER be the same.
