Early Thursday morning, July 21st, the Reddy family suffered an unimaginable and devastating tragedy. A fire broke out in Tom and Mary's home in Massapequa. Despite the valient efforts of the brave members of the numerous local fire and police departments, they were unable to save Tom Reddy.

In a very brief period of time, fire spread throughout the house and left very little to be salvaged. Within minutes, Mary lost her husband and the family home of more than 50 years.

As many of you know, Tom was a dedicated husband, father, and pop pop. He spent the better part of his life in service to others. Tom was a former 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and Captain in the NYPD. Although retired, he still remained forever loyal and dedicated to his brothers in blue. Both Tom's sons-in-law, John and Mike, are current members of the NYPD, proudly following in his footsteps.

Tom leaves behind his wife Mary, his children Thomas, James (deceased), Tracy, Matthew (deceased), Peter, Courtney, and grandchildren Andrew, Sarah, Tyler, Keira, Faith, Liam, and Emily. He will forever be in the hearts and minds of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The Reddy family is overwhelmed with the amount of love and support shown to them already by neighbors, friends, and family and will be forever grateful.
