Hello everyone,
We are hoping to raise money for funeral/cremation services for my late mother Joan McDonald. We appreciate any help towards this goal and we are so grateful for all the love and support during this time.
Clinton-Joan M. (Savage) McDonald, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 12, 2021 at the Life Care Center of Leominster. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, William P. McDonald, Sr., and their son, William P. McDonald, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Peete, with whom she lived, of Clinton; daughter-in-law Lisa McDonald of Clinton; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Chase & wife Meaghan, William P. McDonald III & his companion Melissa Carmody, Audrey McDonald, and Meghan Michaud & her companion Michael Allen; and great-grandchildren, Emma and Mya. She leaves her siblings, Walter Savage of SC; Betty Dmochkowski of Paxton; Donna Norwood & husband Stan; brother-in-law John Mahoney of Worcester; nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends. She is pre-deceased by three sisters, Shirley Olson, Beverly Marsh, and Janice Mahoney.
Daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Moore) Savage, Joan was born in Worcester and attended local schools. In addition to raising her family, she enjoyed her lifelong career as a proof reader, working for the Colonial Press and Graphicon, until retiring. She spent recent years as a part-time payroll employee for the Clinton Hospital, where she was blessed with an abundance of friendships. A voracious romance novel reader, Joan always had a book in her hand. Her additional enjoyments include playing Bingo, solving puzzles, horseback riding, and trips to Maine. Fiercely independent, she was the proud matriarch of her family, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
