Hope for Carter

My little brother Carter is 9 years old and could use your help! He has bone marrow failure and has been diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. Carter needs a life saving bone marrow transplant.
Carter was diagnosed with AA on August 6, 2020. My mom noticed bruising on Carter and that his face was very pale and made an appointment with our family doctor. Shortly after running some routine labs, my mom was called and asked to get Carter back to the hospital as his blood counts were critically low. My mom and Carter were flown to Children's Hospital in Denver about 1 hour after they arrived at our local hospital. Carter's Red Blood Count was 0.87 (normal is 3.90-5.00), his White Blood Count was 0.19 (normal is 5.70-10.50) and his Platelet Count was 7 (normal is 150-500). Carter has had a bone marrow biopsy, and has several more ahead of him in the future. Carter is blood transfusion dependent and our entire family will forever be thankful for each and every bag of blood that was so selflessly donated to help other kids and people like him. Aplastic Anemia is an awful autoimmune disease that requires almost daily lab draws, doctor's appointments and\or blood transfusions. Carter's road is long, but he is strong!
Carter's AA diagnosis has been difficult on our entire family to understand and process. Information overload is an understatement! Because Carter has no immune system (literally) he and my other siblings can't attend in person school. The risk for any infection to Carter is too great. With all the required doctors appointments and trips back and forth to Denver, both of my parents have had to take FLMA leave from work and heavily rely on family to watch my other siblings while they head back and forth from Children's Hospital and home in Fruita.
