A Salute to Dorian's Mom Patrica
Donation protected
My best friend Doran Harris just lost his mother after a nearly 10-year fight with cancer, and this is what he had to say:
"My mom was the most STUBBORN woman I've ever known.
Nearly 10 YEARS ago when my RELENTLESS mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and given 12 MONTHS to live, she said 'I'M GOING TO FIGHT!'
6 YEARS ago when my SINGLE-MINDED mother was told there were no other viable treatments left, she said 'I AM GOING TO TRY SOMETHING ELSE.'
4 YEARS ago when my UNWAVERING mother was told that she had a 94% chance of not making it another year, she said 'SO I'VE GOT TO USE MY 6%!'
2 YEARS ago when my UNYIELDING mom was told by some of the best oncologists in the country that 'We have tried everything' she said, 'WELL GOOD SO WE KNOW WE CAN TRY IT AGAIN!'
2 DAYS ago when my AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL mother spoke with her doctor for the last time and her body was so weak she could barely hold the phone, she asked 'WHEN ARE WE STARTING CHEMO AGAIN?'
Even in passing my mom still continues her fight. She wanted her body donated to cancer research and I have respected her wishes so she can keep on fighting.
My friend, my biggest supporter, my hero, my inspiration, my constant supporter, my mom fought and fought. When all seemed lost and hopeless, she found the strength and resolve to dig deeper and fight harder. Through it all she was always positive, optimistic and the most STUBBORN woman I have ever known, and I will always love her and be so proud of her for it."
Let's join together to honor Patricia and continue her fight against cancer.
A battle with cancer obviously puts enormous strain on everyone involved, and Patricia's family has weathered this strain for almost 10 years. The least we can do is help with their final expenses, and Dorian would like to use the remainder of any proceeds for a donation to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, to help continue his mother's fight.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for any help you are able to offer.
