On Saturday, July 16th, Garry and Eileen were traveling home from Anacortes at 8:45 AM. Just another beautiful Saturday on Fidalgo Island...until their vehicle was suddenly hit, head on by a man who apparently was driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol.

The Riggs were flown to Harborview Hospital with extensive injuries to their lower extremeties and abdomens. Between them, they suffered four broken legs/feet! Multiple surgeries were required. Garry is also undergoing cancer treatment, which has complicated his medical care.

It is our understanding that the driver who hit them had no insurance. We have started this Go Fund Me account to help them on their long road to recovery.
