Donations for Vietnam Children
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
If you have been following me on Facebook you will see that I have been doing a lot of great things here in Vietnam for the children in orphanages and poor children in the countryside.
Many people have written to me wanting to donate. I am setting up this go fund me account instead of using Venmo so people can donate more easily. You can use your credit card if you decide to donate.
Here are some things I will be using the money for:
1. I am going to an orphanage for blind children. Not as many people unfortunately help out the blind children here. The orphanage says they need laundry detergent to wash the kids clothes, cooking oil to make them food, and sugar. These are staple items for Americans but these are items this orphanage just can't afford. The orphanage is run by Nuns who take these kids in when they have no where else to go. It's a great program. When the children are older they teach them how to be massage therapists. This way they can make a living without having sight.
2. Another place I will be using the money for is at a government orphanage I will be visitng on July 29th. I went there last week and found out that about a quarter of the 175 kids who live there are very ill. They have brain problems and lay in bed all day even though they are much older (you can see one child in the photo above). They really need adult diapers for these older children. They also need formula because the babies are underweight, baby diapers, and school supplies. There are two video of me at this orphanage from last week that can be seen on my Facebook page. In one video you will see the sick children and in another video you see me giving out milk to the children who reside there.
3. Lastly, I met two very poor children in the countryside who's parents made them quit school this year. They are from two different families. Both sets of parents said they cannot afford to pay for their school (school is not free in Vietnam) and needed them to help the family by working on the farm. I have since been in contact with both sets of parents and got them to agree to let the boys go to school if I set up a scholarship program for them to finish their whole education. They will not allow them to go for just one year as they do not feel that one more year of education will pull them out of poverty and they are right. They boys are now in 7th great and 5th grade. School costs just $98 a year. For these two boys to finish their education through 12th grade the cost will be $1,200. I am accepting donations to put toward their education expenses. The boys will have to show my friend Thu in Vietnam that they are getting good grades by the end of each school year and are enrolled for the following school year. Then they will receive another year of education at not cost to them from our donations. They have already been told they can possibly go to school again and are so excited!!! Kids here really value their education! This is our change to make a real difference in these boys lives and give them a really opportunity to pull them selves out of poverty.
You can chose from any of these options (1,2, or 3) to donate to. Just tell me what cause you want your money to go to in the comments section after you make a donation. You will get pictures of the kids receiving your donations.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you choose to help. Every little bit of money we get makes a difference!
I am enclosing some pictures of the orphanage you will be helping in July 29th (healthy and sick children) and of the two boys from the countryside we can help send to school. The two boys are in the first photo below and there is another picture of them below receiving toys (3 boys in the picture). Hope you enjoy the photos!
