I am the middle child and the only girl - which is good and bad. Good because I hardly ever got into trouble, bad because I didn't have a sister. But the one thing I do have is BROTHERS - and I've got the best in the west!!! Tim is 3 years older than me and my little brother, Jason, is 3 years younger. (A baby every three years - pretty good planning on the folks’ part!) Tim is the reason I am sitting here typing today.

 

Growing up Tim seemed always to be getting into some kind of trouble. He was, and still is, a very inquisitive young man. As far back as I can remember I have looked up to my older brother. He seemed so much smarter than me, always getting A's and few B's. Well, at least in his younger years.  When the teenage years came around,Tim dipped his toes into every form of life he could think of, trying to find a sense of who he was.

 

I am proud to say that rich history lead to the man that he is now; a son, brother, husband, father and a huge lover of life, especially passionate about Baseball and Food!

 

Which brings me to the reason for this gofund:

 

Our whole family, but Pops, are foodies. We love to eat and cook. Taste is everything! And Tim, with his exceptional taste buds, can pick out any spice in any recipe. We were devastated to learn in January that Tim had developed a form of throat cancer. The treatment is brutal; three rounds of chemotherapy and seven weeks of radiation five times a week that killed those extraordinary taste buds immediately. The cherry on this Ice Cream Sunday is that Tim had to have 11... yep... 11 teeth pulled for the radiation to work in the right places. So between being sick from the chemo, losing his taste and having no teeth the dear boy lost weight, despite the addition of a feeding tube, that he couldn't afford to lose in the first place.

 

Now let's pop up to the present. Tim has finished treatments and we will all know his prognosis in a few months. My plea is to help raise funds for Tim to help with his medical expenses and be able to have dental work done so he will be able to chew his food with some manmade teeth!!! We all know how medical expenses can bury us, and that's definitely the case here. I want so much to help Tim smile and eat BIG again. I can't wait to hear him call out the spices in a dish! And smiling and chewing is so much better with teeth! Tim is all about smiling and sharing and I know when he gets some new teeth he won’t stop doing either one. Tim has the most beautiful smile and I, for one, really want to see my brother smile BIG!

 

I hope to raise these funds soon so that when Tim gets the green light he can see the dentist right away and get those smiles rolling.
