Hi everyone! As most of you heard, my dad, Tom Myers (Thomas or Tommy) passed away on July 6th, 2021 after a long battle with multiple cancers and the side effects of treatments.
Tom was well known for his “Tom Jokes” and for being the life of the party, the social butterfly who could chat with anyone, and for being the most selfless and generous person I’ve ever met.
He was born in Elkhart in 1948, was drafted into the Vietnam war, and eventually settled back into Elkhart with his wife Vickie (Wares) Myers. He adopted Jessie Lynn (me!) in 1993. Vickie passed in 2016 and Tom remarried Nita (Goldman) Myers in 2018.
Funeral plans are set for August 15th at a tbd time in Elkhart, Kansas at the cemetery.
This GoFundMe will be used for various costs regarding the end of life services rendered for Tom including his cremation, burial, service, and a flight/lodging for Jessie to get to Elkhart for the services, with the rest going towards any hospital/clinic bills that will come up.
There is also a Friendship Fund set up at the Heartland Tri State Bank in Elkhart to donate to as well, if you prefer that over an online funding source. Please keep your donations between these two entities, as Jessie is covering the entirety of the costs associated with Tom’s last few weeks of care and his funeral expenses.
