I never thought I would have to do something like this.  To put together a page and ask for donations but sometimes you do things you never thought you would for the people you love.

My name is Jenny and I am trying to raise money for my dad Russ.  My dad is an amazing guy!  He is funny, kind, and he has this positive energy that is contagious.  Growing up I remember a lot of laughter.  I remember always enjoying the time I had with him.  As I got older it became harder to find the time to spend with him.  He worked 2 jobs for many years and my schedule wasn’t much better. 

My dad recently retired, although still working shifts a few days a week to help make ends meet.  Shortly after retirement he fell ill.  It began what he believed to be a stomach bug.  He put off going to a doctor because he hadn’t secured health insurance yet.  Finally he decided he needed to go.  After months of tests they diagnosed him with Stage Four Pancreatic Cancer.  While the news is grim we aren’t ready to stop fighting. 

We are asking for any donation you are able to give, every dollar will go towards my dad’s fight and his family’s security.  We will start taking donations today and will continue until we have won this battle. 

I look back at all the lost time.  All the time I didn’t get to spend with him.  All the times I had to cut visits short and wasn’t able to make his shows.  I wish I had more time.  And with a little help, he might win this battle and I might get more time to make up for the lost time.
