Over two years ago, Maureen was diagnosed with colon cancer. While any cancer diagnosis is a shock, we remained focused on a positive outcome, beating cancer and getting on with enjoying life with our four children.
After three different bouts of chemotherapy, three major surgeries and the most courageous battle of her life, she finally had to admit defeat. Maureen passed away on July 2, 2016 at the age of 47, leaving myself and our four children mourning her loss but determined to carry on.
We treasured our family life and the time spent with our four children, Audrey(12), Liam(14), Hazel(12) and Aidan(15),
trying to provide them with a happy, positve household where both Maureen and I shared an equal role in thier upbringing. Many of our life choices have been centered around providing our children with diverse, rewarding life experiences.
I am now faced with raising our four amazing children while not only dealing with the emotional loss of Maureen, but also the financial hardship that has been created. The financial burden placed upon myself now, as the sole provider is compounded by the increased emotional/physical needs of the children, who will rely on me more than ever.
Donations from this campaign will be used to pay for medical bills from Maureen's last surgery, a college fund for all four children, health insurance and everyday living expenses as I try to juggle that balance between work and home, continuing to provide a stable home life for all of us.
The support of our friends and loved ones has been tremendous as they have helped us through this ordeal from the beginning. I am truly thankful for all that has been done in support of our family.
With love, the McEnaney's
