Corporal Bryan Shaw

Forney Jackrabbit and Texas A&M Commerce Alumni and current El Centro College police Cpl. Bryan Shaw thanked God at a news conference earlier this month that he had only been grazed by a bullet during the downtown ambush of police.

But during surgery Friday, July 31st at Baylor University Medical Center, he learned that an entire AK-74 bullet was found inside his abdomen.

Bryan is now recovering at home with his wife and young sons. The traumatic events have definitely taken a toll on Bryan and his amazing wife Stephanie who hasn't left his side.

Unfortunately with events of this magnitude unexpected costs have been incurred. Stephanie has been off work since July 7th, she is caring for Bryan and helping him to prepare to return to work. They are having to pay to board their dog during this time because she is quite large and still a puppy and likes to jump. The doctor and hospital bills  that are coming in because insurance deductibles have not yet been met, are quiet overwhelming.
