As you may or may not know, our dear friend Leslie DuPre-Grimaud was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. After noticing a lump, she went in for a check-up only to discover surgery would be needed urgently. While in surgery, the doctors discovered that the mass in the breast was larger than expected and had spread to 1 lymph node. The preliminary diagnosis is late stage 2B. This being the case, the doctors have requested a CT and bone scan to see if the cancer has metastasized to her bones.

Understandably, this has come as a huge shock to Herb and Leslie and all of their family and close friends. They are scheduled to meet with the Oncologist to discuss treatment for chemotherapy and radiation. As anyone who has battled cancer will know, the medical costs to be incurred over the next many months will continue to grow. Between co-pay for appointments, medical deductibles for surgeries and appointments, travel expenses, home care, and meals the expenses will be in the thousands. Herb was unsure about reaching out for help, but that is why I am asking for us to come around them and help to support them through this next season. Whether through monetary gift, thoughts, and prayers, anything would be appreciated.

Leslie is a testament to strength and determination – I know she can and will defeat this. Let’s show them how much we care, and are standing with them, in this next season of life!
