Help with Baby Quinn’s Medical Expenses

On April 8, 2021 Quinn was Admitted to Nemours Children’s Hospital for the first time. Days before she went to the hospital she had been showing signs of lethargy and jaundice. It was blown off as a virus multiple times by her pediatrician. Jemma, following her motherly instincts, decided to take her to the emergency room. She was immediately admitted to the hospital and was given a transfusion that evening as there was a concern for her life. She spent a week in the hospital where she was given fluids, poked and prodded, and had test after test done on her. They found she had hemolytic anemia, and her kidney function was dangerously low but had no clue as to why or what was causing it. She left the hospital with no diagnosis, but the blood transfusion did help. And her kidney labs showed improvement.

On May 10, 2021 Quinn was admitted to Nemours Children’s Hospital for the second time. She had suffered from diarrhea for three days straight with no reprieve, so Jemma decided to take her to the ER as she seemed to be getting dehydrated. They gave her fluids and more poking and prodding and blood tests. Finally, she ended up leaving the hospital five days later, the same way she went in. With diarrhea, no diagnosis, but at least hydrated.

Both times she showed improvement after she left the hospital.

On July 5, 2021 Quinn was admitted to Nemours  Children’s Hospital for the third time. This time she had a lesion on the underside of her tongue that was unexplained. And as soon as Jemma noticed it and saw that it was tender, she took her once again to the ER. They said they had never seen anything like this, ever. She was put under general anesthesia and they did a biopsy, which is still pending as of now. Once again, she was discharged without a diagnosis.

Over the last few months the bills have been stacking up and Quinn continues to see medical specialists who monitor her through bloodwork, which is awful for Quinn. These specialists include an immunologist, a urologist, a nephrologist, an ENT, a gastroenterologist, geneticist, and a hematologist. The doctors are monitoring her and testing her blood regularly in hopes of finding a diagnosis.

In September Quinn has an appointment with the Mayo clinic where we are hoping that the best hospital in the nation will be able to find a diagnosis for her, so that she can be properly treated and won’t have to have continued hospital stays. This will mean another hospital stay and travel expenses.

Quinn is a happy, active and brilliant baby girl, and she has the best mama looking out for her.
Your prayers for Jemma and our sweet baby Q would be so appreciated. Any donations you can contribute would help Jemma with all of the debt she has incurred over the last few months.
Please share this page on social media often to help Jemma reach her financial goal.

Thank you in advance for caring for Quinn and Jemma and keeping them in your prayers.
