At 7:15 am on Monday April 25 2016, a fire started in the rental home of Mike Mansker and fiancee Cara Moylan. Mike was already at work when the fire started, Cara and the kids were still asleep. Thank you to one of the staff at Ellisville Animal Hospital that ran across the street and awoken Cara and her kids Matthew (11) Addison (6). This terriable situation could have ended, tragically if he hadn't noticed the smoke and flames coming from the house when he did. The 2 family dogs were rescued by the heroic firefighters. We're so very thankful that everyone made it out of the house safely.
Mike and Cara did not have renters insurance nor do they have the means to replace what was lost in the fire. It was a total loss except for some clothing they were able to salvage. Mikes been doing for others since he was a young teenager. He was awarded "Do The Right Thing" by channel 4 in 1996 when he was 14 , for having over 500 hours volunteer service at Northwoods Nursing Home in St Louis., and has been helping people ever since. Hopefully you'll find in your heart to help Mike and his family in his desperate time of need.
