Brandon's Second Chance

Hi, my name is Rhonda and my son is very ill. On June 16, 2016, I received a call from my son that he needed help and was very sick. I worked my normal Friday schedule went home, packed and drove to California with my fiancé. After finding my son, 27 in much distress we called an ambulance to take Brandon to the hospital emergency room. He was admitted to ICU and over the next few days was diagnosed with life threatening infections to the heart, lungs, kidneys and blood: Septic Embolism, Sepsis, staphylococcus infection, Pulmonary Edema, Endocarditis, Anemia, and infected kidneys. He has received four blood transfusion thus far. Over the last four weeks (30 days) he has endured many different types of antibiotics, medications, CT scans, fluid drained from lungs, Ultra Sounds, X-rays, PICC line, and finally a TEE procedure, Friday, July 15, 2016.

On July 16 ,2016, Brandon’s cardiologist advised us they will be transferring him to the University of California Irvine Medical Center (UCI) for open heart surgery to receive an artificial Aortic Valve.

I am currently missing a lot of work to be with Brandon.  Brandon is in a hospital 368 miles away from me and his immediate family. I and other family members are traveling back and forth to provide care and support. Brandon is an only child and his small family consists of his maternal grandmother, two aunts, an uncle, myself and my fiancé.

I am Brandon’s main financial support. I am asking for your help now and later as we move through this life threatening event. Each day we hope and pray for good news but are also faced with new challenges on a regular basis. At this time, we are unsure of the outcome after surgery and beyond. Here are a few ways your donations will help Brandon. Physical therapy, heart medications for life, rehab, insurance, doctor visits, travel expenses/loss of wages, and transporting to a local hospital close to his family.  One day we hope he will be able to work again but definitely not in the near future. Brandon is a young man 27 years old who cries for help to become healthy and move forward with his life. We will continue to support and help Brandon as long it takes, we as a family love Brandon with all our hearts.

Please keep Brandon in your prayers and consider making a donation so he receives the care he needs.

Thank you for any donations, prayers and support. Please share this campaign.
