My husband, Oral and I were so thankful to finally hear from our family in Jamaica. They are alive, and for that, we are deeply grateful. But while they survived the storm, they are far from safe. Their home, a place that held Oral's mother, two sisters, and a young nephew is now completely unlivable.

Hurricane Melissa tore through their property, leaving behind nothing but heartbreak and rubble. They lost their roof, their beds, their clothes, food, water collection barrel, fridge, freezer; every single thing that made their house a home. Right now, they are exposed to the elements and trying to find better shelter.

It’s hard to imagine losing everything overnight but that’s exactly what they’re facing. Still, through all of this, they’re holding onto hope, faith, and the belief that we can rebuild. We want to help them not just rebuild a house, but rebuild their sense of safety and stability.

We’re raising funds to help them start over: to repair and rebuild their home, and to provide immediate essentials like food, clean water, clothing, and cleaning supplies. Any amount, big or small, will make a difference and bring them one step closer to stability and comfort. ❤️
