Redu's Educational Fund

Three years ago the Kyllonen family heard the story of a teenage girl named Rediate from Ethiopia who had received a prestigious scholorship to come and study in the United States for a year.  She was in need of a family to stay with during this stay in the U.S. ... Chad and Tina thought about it for a few minutes and decided to host her in their alreay crazy family! During that time it not only became clear that Rediate, affectionately called Redu, was incredibly lovely, but also that she was verrrryyyy gifted in the maths and sciences. Throughout the year Redu became a part of the family and  as her time here came to a close the Kyllonens began looking into bringing Redu back to the United States for college. Although Ethiopia has college degree programs available, kids are very limited as to what they are permitted to study and the completion of a degree from an American institution continues to to be highly regarded. Two years after Redu returned to Ethiopia....two years of failed visa applications....two years of piles and piles of paperwork...Redu is coming back!!!! Her plane ticket has been booked and the Kyllonen's are so thrilled to have the opportunity to have her in their home once again. This time, instead of coming under the umbrella of an organization, Redu is being sponsored by the her host family. The Kyllonen's are honored to be trusted with her as her Family prepares to part with her once again. Many family and friends have expressed an interest in coming along side of her by helping financially with her education. This is an opportunity to do just that for those who have loved her, know the nuances of her story, and would like to invest in this opportunity. The current plan is for Redu to study for two years at HACC with th hopes of working toward a scholorship to finish up at a traditional four year school. Once she arrives she will be applying for a job on campus, taking hours at The Fancy Unicorn, and will be available for babysitting and nannying to earn money for school. For now this 'Go Fund Me' campaign has been establishe to get her started. What a gift to be able to invest in this Girl!
