Sophie, the wildflower - supporting the Finley’s
The Finley family is awaiting the arrival of sweet Sophie Jayne THIS month!
Sophie has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, a critical congenital heart defect in which the left side of her heart did not develop. Her medical needs will include a three-stage open heart surgery palliation, with the first surgery, The Norwood, taking place within the first two weeks of life. The second surgery, The Glenn, will likely take place between 4-6 months, and the last, The Fontan around 3-4 years. Each of these surgeries comes with extended hospital stays, which means time spent apart from Charlotte and Brooks, time away from work for Klay, and major medical expenses.
Though Lauren and Klay would never ask for anything other than prayer for their precious daughter and their family, so many people have asked how they can help! First and foremost: PRAY! Pray for resiliency for Sophie, strength for her heart, for miracles in her life, and days filled with love and joy. Pray for peace and strength for Lauren and Klay as they prepare for her arrival, and all that will follow. Pray for Charlotte and Brooks, as they adjust to a different kind of life at home with a medically complex little sister.
