If you know Mike Weissinger, you know he’s a man that works sun up to sun down. He makes many sacrifices to provide for his large family. Self-employment is hard in itself but even harder to run a business when you’re physically unable. Not to mention, he’s the glue to his business and the glue to his household.
Mike was in a serious wreck this past weekend. He finally had an opportunity to spend some family time at the Strawberry Festival. The weather was perfect and the best way to enjoy it was on two wheels. He cut his night short to go feed the horses when just two miles from his home, the animal he hunts in season, hunted him! A deer crossed his path and he skillfully laid down his bike. What Mike did not expect was the battle wounds he’d sustain. He suffered a shattered scapula (shoulder blade), lacerated spleen, 3 rib fractures, and questionable 2nd/3rd degree road rash. Scapulas are in the 1% of broken bones because most only major traumas cause them! Mike underwent an unexpected surgery today to repair his spleen. He needs those red blood cells to heal! Tomorrow holds another surgery and this one will be on his shoulder where permanent hardware (plates and screws) will forever remain.
Many have reached out and asked how they could help. The Weissinger’s first request prayer. If you feel compelled to give monetarily, you can donate however your heart desires. You can donate here or directly to the family. You can also send gift cards to cover dinners. Again, nothing will be too small and ALL will be appreciated. This family would never ask for a hand out but I’m their branch and together WE will multiply them.
Isaiah 41:10 says “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
