Thomas Pouncy-Emergency OPEN HEART Surgery and Recovery Fundraiser!

 

On June 24th, Thomas and his wife Brandy, received shocking news after Thomas had a heart checkup…He needs Emergency OPEN HEART SURGERY to repair a congenital heart defect he never knew he had!!

 

Thomas had been experiencing chest discomfort and fatigue.  After being out of work for some time,  he had just accepted a new job and decided to go get checked out before he started a full work schedule.  The test results came showing the heart defect and without emergency open heart surgery, it could be FATAL!

 

Thomas was admitted to the hospital and has been undergoing a series of test including a heart catheterization in preparation for surgery. OPEN HEART Surgery is scheduled for Thursday July 1st.  The procedure is said to last 4-5 hours and includes a bypass and repair of the defective artery.

 

Recovery will be intense!  He will be on a ventilator until he wakes and can breathe on his own and monitored in ICU for a time.  It's expected the hospital stay could last several days after surgery and then recovery at home will take months!

 

Prior to these health issues, Thomas had a series of unfortunate events that had left him unemployed.  The last most frightening happened in May when Thomas was driving a Semi truck.  His cargo shifted and his rig overturned and nearly rolled down the side of a mountain! Although Thomas wasn't badly injured, the Semi truck was a total loss.

 

Saying times have been hard for this family is an understatement! As you know, medical bills will be astronomical and more financial stress isn't something this family needs!  TP is a family man!  He loves his kids and grandson greatly and will fight tremendously to regain his health so he can spend time with them and his many friends! It will be a rough road be he's stubborn enough to fight through this!!
