Miracle in the making

Friday, 07/08/2016, five minutes till both the hour and minute hands strike twelve. Majority of the neighbors were already asleep. The speedy ambulance left nothing but a trail of flashing lights behind them. Emergency personnel did their best in trying to help transport Minh Tsu to the nearest hospital as fast as possible. Family members, including his spouse, were shock and in a state of panic. The worrisome look on the family member faces intensified as the minute hand slowly ticked away. After few hours of waiting and praying, they finally got news from the on duty medical doctor and neurologist. Based on the MRI and CT scan results, both doctors at their respective field, confirmed that the newly arrived ER patient has suffered from a hemorrhagic stroke. The wife of the patient stared at the doctor in utter disbelief. “How can my husband, 40 years of age, suffered from a blood vessel bursted inside the brain?” She questioned them.
The doctor, calmly explained to her, that her husband has a history of hypertension which caused the hemorrhagic stroke. Furthermore, the doctor went on to informed the immediate family that unfortunately, due to the location of the blood clot, no medication nor operation can be performed at this point to help Minh remove those blood out of his intracranial area.
“There is a slight chance that Minh will wake up on his own one day from this occurrence, but that’s rarely the case in comparison to similar situations. Until then, he will be closely monitored for the next 48 hours,” The attending medical doctor advised them.
His wife have never pray this hard before, and she’s praying for her dear life, hoping that there will be a miracle. One after another, families and friends started to come into the hospital to show support and to give words of encouragement.
Minh has two son. The eldest,11 years old, is greatly dramatized and is having difficulty with digesting the news that his father will never be able to wake up again. The youngest, being only 4 years of age, on the other hand, have absolutely no idea that his father was in such a critical state.
“Wake up Daddy! Wake up!…stop sleeping…I want ice cream!!!” The poor boy cried out to his father.
He tried and tried, but still no response from his Dad.
“Tell Daddy to wake up Mommy!…please tell Daddy to wake up!!!” The poor boy begged his mother.
His mom didn’t know how to explain the situation to him, all she could do at the moment was to hold him tight by her side and cry uncontrollably.
Sunday, 07/10/2016, less than 48 hours later, just like that…Minh is gone. He was pronounced brain dead by both the medical doctor and the neurologist. Upon hearing the heart breaking news, his wife collapsed and fainted. The medical staff quickly escorted her to the emergency room for treatment.
Minh was a good man. He is survived by his widower and two children. His wife doesn't understand why her husband life was cut short. She questioned herself was it because her prayer wasn’t sincere enough that God were unwilling to grant her that “miracle” that she was so desperately seeking for? Or is it because “miracle” just doesn't exist?
Some people often say that “time” is the perfect remedy to heal all wound, and his wife was no exception to that. Slowly, as time went on, she started to understand, and accepted the fact that her beloved husband is now with God, and that she will forever misses him.
Minh was a normal average person just like the rest of us. He did not have any superpower ability, but what he did have was a caring warm heart to help those who are in need of it.
After his passing, the family help Minh fulfilled his final wish to become an organ donor.
Because of Minh’s vital organs…5 different organ recipients now get to have a 2nd chance in life. In turn, it is also because of those 5 different organ recipients, that makes me feel like Minh is still with us today. On behalf of Minh’s family, a special thank you to all of those organ recipients for helping Minh live out his legacy. Thank you for letting us know that a part of him is still walking among us!!!
Some people believe that “Miracle” is a work from a divine agency because those event cannot be explained through natural or scientific laws. I, on the other hand, believe that “Miracle” could be achieved through the act of kindness. Rather than chasing, and praying for that “miracle”,…why don’t we devote more of that time in creating a “miracle” of our own instead???
Be a Organ Donor…be like Minh!!!
Save lives…Save the future!!!
Parting ways with our love ones are never easy…especially when it’s so sudden. Please treasure those we love dearly for we will never know when they’ll be taking their last breath.
I’ve known Minh for years. He always talked about planning ahead to insure the safeguard and well being of his family just in case something were to happen to him. However, Minh never got the chance fulfill that commitment because he was financially incapable of doing so. Other than leaving a long list of medical expenses behind to his widower, Minh has nothing more to offer to them but a TV, DVD player, some DVDs, and an old used car. He had no 401K account, no life insurance policy, and no money in their saving account. His widower has no other family member in California other than her 2 children. She is desperately in need of our help right now. Please help his widower and his kids get through this difficult and challenging part of their lives. Any donation, great or small will be greatly appreciated. Your generosity will forever be remembered in her heart and myself. All donations will go toward funding Minh’s funeral service expenses and any extras will go toward the college education tuition for his children.

If need verification of his passing, please contact the Decedent Affairs Department at Hospital or contact myself, Kenny Luong. Thank you!!!!
