Hi everyone, I'm Irene I have also been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) officially as of last year, besides other medical conditions I have that are pulmonary hypertension, and fibromyalgia. There are 4 different types of MS. I have Primary Progressive MS. This is where you do not go into remission or relapses. The symptoms do not go away. The symptoms I get are hand tremors, extreme fatigue, loss of strength in my hands, I have cognitive problems, muscle weakness, numbness in my fingers, I cannot stay balanced, at times dizziness. I've woken up before unable to move at all my right arm, luckily I had movement comeback a day later when it happens. I currently use a walker. Last year around September I had my first infusion of Ocrevus, and I got an allergic reaction the first time. But I've been told this is the best infusion for Primary Progressive. For the past couple of years I have done physical therapy. Last year I had speech therapy and physical therapy, and was placed on physical therapy (gait) per my MS Drs order. This was due to even though I use a walker but I'm constantly falling. Also to alleviate some of the issues that have been worsening. Due to no improvement at all during therapy. My MS Dr sent me to a wheelchair assessment and I was strongly recommended to get a motorized wheelchair since I do not have strength in my hands especially in my right hand. Also was told to get the motorized wheelchair in which case can also later have things added to the chair as I progress. I reached out to the MS society and they are helping with what they can financially, but regrettably, it is not enough to cover expenses. Plus I will be needed a wheelchair ramp and the part that attaches to the car to transport while I can still drive. Plus the infusion of Ocrevus is billed as chemotherapy and is very expensive.
I am humbly asking if you can help with any funding for my MS expenses. I feel bad asking for help, but thank you for any contribution you can donate. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and stay safe everyone. ..
Irene
