This is a GoFundMe for Sydney/Chris Minnick and their kids to help support them through their 6th battle with cancer, which was from her Stage IV metastatic melanoma and breast cancer. Just one battle with cancer is such an extreme disruption to normal life, with incredibly high medical bills, unpaid time off from work, and frankly the most important thing, quality time spent with the family. Throw in a second, third, fourth, fifth and now sixth time, and we are talking about the most unfair of unfair situations for anyone, nonetheless, for one of the most wonderful persons/families we have ever come across. You can follow Sydney’s journey thru her CaringBridge.org site.  As of recent, there are two new worrisome melanoma spots of which she will have surgery on August 5th to remove. Sydney herself has been truly the most optimistic/positive person we have ever seen, never breaking a smile in any of her life's trials and tribulations. We are truly better people watching her and her family go through this as it has allowed us to improve on our abilities to not sweat the inconsequential worries in life.


The intention of this GoFundMe is to provide support in

1) Their financial obligations of medical bills related to surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation.  

2) To help fill the financial gap due to extra time off from work when she and Chris have already exhausted all their sick leave.

3) To give them a little extra to go on an all important family vacation that has been on hold for last 12 years because of their previous five fights with cancer.  

This GoFundMe effort has been a project in the works for a long while, as Sydney and Chris have put the kibosh on it many times. This GoFundMe is less about them, and more about each one of their friends/family being able to say "We love you, you mean so much to us, and what you are going through absolutely SUCKS!".   We want to express to them that they are not alone in this.
