Petra’s Funeral Expenses

Donation protected

Hi everyone

I wanted to share a little about our story. In May 2020 My mom Petra Beltran was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. This would be her second fight with cancer as she beat breast cancer in 2019 after a year and a half long battle. In may 2020 the cancer returned and was more aggressive, this time stage 4 lung cancer. The oncologists she has had in Chicago have let her down countless times. With her current oncologist claiming “I’m meaner than your old doctor” after we switched oncologists. Her previous oncologist would not listen to us after switching her from a chemo that was working to an immunotherapy that “studies show could work”. This is the reason we switched to our current oncologist. But since we have been with her she has made comments and has refused to even acknowledge my mom. We have not seen her since our initial meetings, instead sending her nurse practitioner.she has also refused to share results from my moms CT scans because it would just cause my mom worry even though knowing is more important She and her team have been hard to reach during my moms hospital stays. We know cancer and especially lung cancer is unpredictable but the treatment has been awful. Cancer is a disease that takes so much from someone and their family, support was all we wanted and a team that would advocate and fight for us. But we haven’t received that.

Thank you,

Zarco, Beltran & Esparza family
