MOM + HEART = Corazon
Mama Cors or Corazon is not just our family’s pillar of strength but just like the meaning of her name — She is the Heart that kept our family together all these years especially when Papa Lito passed away two years ago. Last July 9, 2016, Mama Cora had severe chest pain and difficulty in breathing. She was in the ICU for almost a week because of the initial diagnosis of Acute Myocardial Infarction and Acute Kidney Injury stage 3 secondary to Cardiorenal Syndrome type 1 on top of Diabetic Nephropathy.
She is still in the hospital for close monitoring due to complications on her lungs, heart and kidney. Currently, she is undergoing 3x a week Dialysis session. When she is in a stable condition, we will transfer her to the Philippine Heart Center for the Angiogram procedure that her doctors’ required. This is to check the cause of the heart attack and possible blockage in her heart.
Our Mama Cors lived her life in Christ. She is an active church worker in St. Paul of the Cross Parish, Philippines as a Psalmist, Lector, DMI and PREX speaker. All those she juggles while taking care of our family. There were times we can’t understand why will she fulfill her church duties even if she is not feeling well. The answer we always get from her is because she is committed to serve God because she believes that God will heal her. This passion for service is pass on to us her children. Mama Cors immersed us with church activities and we are blessed to be serving our community as a whole family.
Her faith is our inspiration to start a fundraising campaign to cover the hospital bills, the medicines, the ongoing dialysis as per her doctor they schedule 3 x a week session, and the angiogram procedure. Hospitalization in the Philippines is not free and is really expensive, this in on top of her maintenance medicines for diabetes (e.g. insulin), kidney problem and hypertension. We are really struggling on finances as we are still recovering and paying off debts from my fathers’ illness and death due to Acute Myelogenous Leukemia.
We thank you for being one with our family. You prayers and words of encouragement gives comfort to our family. We are overwhelmed with the support that we have been receiving. In this light, we ask for your support for the continuous healing of our dearest Mama Cora.
Again, from the bottom of our heart, thank you for all your generous donations and all of them is going to be a big help for our mom’s 100% healing.
God bless you more!
