Amanda (Mandy) Perkins Treadwell

My name is Stephanie Frazier, and I am raising money for Amanda (Mandy) Perkins Treadwell, who I've known since 8th grade. She was diagnosed with ALS in February last year with bulbar palsy onset which mostly affects her speech, chewing and ability to swallow Additionally she has difficulty with upper and lower extremities, which causes cramping and twitching of muscles. Her daily medication help keep these symptoms minimized. Mandy's fatigue, muscle weakness and continued decline in fine motor skills are causing her to be unable to continue working very many hours at her job as a physical therapist. Mandy has three children, the youngest of which has special needs. Mandy is a strong woman, who works hard for her family. She loves helping others and giving in every way she can. Amanda is a Strong believer of God and puts her faith in him everyday.
The money raised will go towards medical expenses, in-home care so she can keep her child with her as long as possible, housekeeping, money to keep her house, living expenses for water and electricity and her daughter's expenses. Mandy has recently had water damage in her house and has incurred repairs beyond the cost that insurance will cover. The closest ALS clinic is located three hours from her home, which requires gas and lodging expense. Her appointments are minimally five hours long. Mandy is a single mom and relies on a small support group to help her, and I live with my family 1500 miles away. She is an amazing person whom I've stayed in touch with for over 35 years. She has one close friend who lives nearby. She helps as much as possible by taking her to all of her doctor's appointments, helps with housework, and childcare for her daughter, but this friend has a husband, four children and works full-time.
The stress of where all the money will come from to replace the floors and repair the ceiling and wall in the bathroom from water damage, pay for her progressing care, her daughter's care and living expenses is emotionally and physically draining Mandy. I would appreciate anything you can give to help my girlfriend - and if nothing else, many prayers to help Mandy get through this most difficult time in her life and her childrens' lives.
