Dave's Medical Fund & Retirement
I am making this gofundme for my very good friend, Dave Emmert. I will start off by saying that in my short time knowing Dave, he has had a very positive impact on my life. Dave has taught me numerous things, including how to rock climb. It is very apparent in our time spent together that Dave loves to teach people. His passion for teaching me rock climbing was very clear, and I believe that is what Dave was put on earth to do - share knowledge. Dave knows a little bit about everything, and being the renaissance man that he is, he has a lot to teach.
Unfortunately, Dave had a second stroke this summer, the first leaving him blind in one eye, and the second reducing his vision in his remaining eye to 25%. These medical conditions have left Dave, a father of three beautiful kids and a husband, unable to perform his trade as an ordnance technician, removing unexploded ordnance from the environment. It has also left Dave with a massive list of medical bills.
Dave has always told me of his dream of building a resort on the property he and his brother own in Tennessee, which would include rock climbing courses, ATV rentals, a restaraunt, etc.
I made this gofundme, because I want to do what I can to help Dave, and reciprocate the impact he has had on my life. There is a short term goal of $7,500 to assist with his medical expenses, but would like to keep a long-term goal of $20,000 to assist Dave with his retirement plan of building his resort.
As a former restaraunt owner, chef, and rock climber, and a current father, husband, and all around genuine person, the resort would be an excellent way for Dave to overcome his medical conditions and provide for his lovely family. He and I both will be incredibly grateful for donations of $5, $10, $50, or even $100 dollars to help Dave answer his calling as a teacher, chef, and father.
