Support for the Madia Family.

My name is Evan Diekhaus and I am creating this campaign in the hopes of helping a family struck by shocking news just two days ago. My friend, Michael Madia, suffered from a mental disease that caused him to hallucinate. One night Mike left his home, and had one of his hallucinations at 230 in the morning, and was later struck by a train. Michael Madia has been a friend of mine for over 8 years. Our friendship was not your typical friendship where you physically hang out in-person. Rather, Mike and I met online while playing a popular game called Counter Strike on Steam. We had a great friendship and he taught me everything I know about the game and computers in general. We grew up together, played the game every night, and developed great chemistry. Mike was like a brother to me. Although I never actually met him in person, our friendship was truly one of a kind and I couldn't be any happier to have had the opportunity to befriend such a great kid.

As we played the game each night we would share different stories of how our days were going. I remember one story in particular, when his mother Margaret came home from the grocery store and he left his mic on so i heard his conversation with her. I would always kid around with mike on the game, so I asked jokingly out-loud, "Hey Ma, What's For Dinner?" I always knew how to crack mike up and I am going to miss his laugh. I want Mike to be remembered as the brother of mine that I never met.

The gaming community is what kept Mike excited and happy on the computer.  The competitive game Counterstrike has introduced myself to Mike, and many other individuals who mean a lot to him. Mike knew that one day he would be something in that game. He wanted to make a name for himself and one day be like one of the pros. His knowledge and determination truly showed me that he had what it took to become a successful gamer, and most of all a, hard-working human being.  Mike had a strong heart, and did not let many things bother him. He always kept his head up and got straight down to business. He taught me everything I needed to know about games and how to become better in FPS. I am going to miss the days with Mike when we would watch professional matches on Counter Strike and see our favorite Pros play one another.

This campaign is for Mike's Family. Margaret Madia (Mike's Mom), Tony Sr Madia (Mike's Dad) and Tony Madia (Mike's Brother) have been in contact with me and I wish them nothing but happiness in life. They need all the support they can get with funeral arrangements and donations to help get them back on their feet. They have my deepest condolences and this is just something I wanted to do to help a family that is going through so much. I love you Madia Family.

I want to spread this campaign around the gaming community because I know Mike loved the games he played, he loved the ESEA community and loved the competitive atmosphere. His memory will always be with me as I play. I will always have him on my mind. You're in a better place now Mike. Rest easy brother.
