Help Stacie Pay For Dusty Bodine’s Funeral
Donation protected
To those of you who weren’t aware, on June 25th, 2021 this world lost Dusty Bodine. A man who many would agree, was one of the most loved and respected individuals ever to step foot on this planet.
We, the Bodine family, now find ourselves in a unfamiliar predicament. One where our loving Father, Husband, and Our Rock is no longer here to steady this ship. We’ve started this GOFUNDME fundraiser to cover Dusty’s final expenses, as we prepare to send him off to the lights in heaven.
But perhaps more importantly, we started this campaign to provide a little additional financial support for Giulia, while we figure out our family’s financial future. Which, at the moment, seems unclear.
What we do know is that Dusty was taken away from his family too soon. He was riding the same route he had likely rode a hundred times before. Just enjoying his motorcycle, cruising along IH-30e, in route to pay his monthly storage fees, when the accident occurred.
He was a such a skilled rider, and a naturally careful human being, that its difficult to describe the amount of shock, confusion, and disbelief that has overtaken our family and friends these last few days.
Dusty, is survived by: Stacie Bodine, his best friend of 20 years and his wife of 4 years. His daughter, Giulia Bodine, His parents, Ken & Paula, his younger sister Lesleh, and an extended family made up of In-Laws and life-long friends.
For those of us who were close to the Bodine family, we were very much aware of the financial stress that they’d been under this past year.
Stacie, having recently suffered a broken ankle, had been unable to work since February. This, in addition to, the negative impact that the pandemic had on their ability to earn. The totality of the two unforeseen events, literally reduced their household income by half.
It goes without saying that any one of us, at any point in time could’ve been hit with these same burdens. However, the Bodine’s ability to cope with their situation was truly impressive. Dusty, being the dedicated father he was, worked tirelessly. And finally, last week he got a glimpse of relief when Stacie returned to work for the first time in 5 months. He was looking forward to spending his days watching Giulia, and managing side jobs repairing cars. But fate had a different chapter in mind for our family.
If you’ve known Dusty and Me for sometime, then you known we have always been self sufficient, and rarely asked for favors unless absolutely necessary. Unfortunately, now is one of those times. We all have countless stories of how Dusty has helped us out of a jam, and did it solely bc hen was an great person.
We call on anyone who can find it in their heart to contribute anything to help our family right now. Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated, but we love you regardless of you donating or not. Thank you all for the supports and well wishes!
Dusty would be so happy to see this response, and to know he was truly appreciated
