"On June 16, 2016, Barry Magee passed away at home in his sleep. Barry was a loving husband, father, and brother to his family around him. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors, golfing, basketball, cars, history, and going on trips with his wife and four children.
For the past several years, he has battled with a handful of health problems due to diabetes which eventually led to chronic kidney failure. The effects of his diabetes resulted in issues such as poor eyesight, neuropathy in his legs, and sores on his legs and feet which caused much difficulty in walking and much pain which became a daily struggle for him. Barry had also been on dialysis three times a week for just over a year to treat his kidneys and had started the process of pursuing the testing to get his name on the kidney transplant list. Although he was on dialysis, his kidneys kept worsening and eventually failed.
Due to his health complications with diabetes and kidney failure, Barry was unable to obtain life insurance before he passed away. This has left his family in a tight financial position with funeral costs, remaining medical bills, school costs for his children, and the daily costs of living. Along with these things, Barry's oldest daughter Bethany was diagnosed with B-cell ALL leukemia in October of 2015 resulting in many medical costs for her as well and for her family to face. Finances will be tight for them especially over the next few months, and any fiscal gift would be of tremendous help to them.
