Dave Gawthrop’s Double Lung Transplant Surgery

After many, many grueling months of evaluations, tests, working so hard to quit tobacco use and losing weight (mandatory requirements), Dave Gawthrop underwent Double Lung Transplant surgery due to Pulmonary Fibrosis on June 25th, 2020, at UPMC hospital. It was a very successful surgery, and at the time of this post Dave was doing well. However, he has a long road of recovery and rehab ahead of him. His wife Janine has been by his side through it all, and will need to stay in Pittsburgh with him for the next couple months. Their sons, daughter-in-laws, and grandkids will be visiting from time to time as well, as there is no better therapy than seeing their smiling faces, and especially hugs from the grandkids.
