Flood Relief for Longtime Montrose Family

Donation protected

On June 24th, the home of longtime local Montrose residents Dave and Sherry Hamblin was flooded due to a sudden flash flood in the Coal Creek Valley.

Brought on by torrential rainfall, the canal running above their house broke flooding all of the family’s property and the main floor of the house. Although everyone made it out safe, there was extensive damage to their home and much of their property. The living room, kitchen, pantry, and laundry room along with the hot water heater, furnace, and appliances were destroyed.

The flooding was so intense that it broke the water main underneath the home which led to even more water flooding inside. Many of the family’s personal possessions were washed away into nearby fields and down the road.

Unfortunately, the Hamblin’s home of 41 years is left uninhabitable until the 3’ deep of mud/silt is removed and major repairs are completed. Due to the declining health of Dave, and the extensive damage to the family’s home, the Hamblins need our HELP! Any help as well as positive thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated!

If you are not able to donate, a SHARE would also be tremendously helpful! Help us get the word out. Many hands make for light work!

A HUGE thanks to all who have already given their time helping start the cleanup process of the property! We appreciate each and every single one of you!
