On Friday, July 15, we lost a cherished member of our BASE Camp Family, Jackie Ellis. We didn't just lose a co-worker, we lost a friend and a sister.
We remember her for her contagious laugh, unwavering faith, million dollar smile and her famous hugs.
On behalf of Jackie and her family, we are so very grateful for the generosity of all who have donated to Jackie's fund for treatment.
Your support and encouragement were instrumental in her fight but now her family is facing the sad reality of planning funeral services for her.
Jackie withdrew over $7,000 from the first campaign to pay for chemotherapy and has remaining funds to help with funeral costs but not nearly enough to cover the total.
With a heavy heart we find ourselves asking from Jackie's village to help once again as her family lays her to rest by her daughter, Simone.
All funds raised will be used to cover this gap in funeral costs as well as assist Scott and Edith to ease their burden of lost wages and supporting a fuller household.
The remaining funds raised after expenses are paid will be deposited into a College Savings account for Jackie's granddaughter, Talia.
Any amount you donate would help us greatly. Many blessings to all!
For anyone wishing to celebrate the life and legacy Jackie has left behind her funeral will be held on Saturday, July 23rd at 11:00am, at First United Methodist Church of Winter Park (Florida).
